Fall Activities

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is a big deal in this small German town and the largest festival of the year, stretching for three days in early October. It includes delicious German foods, dozens of musical acts, yodeling contests, people wearing their best German dirndls and lederhosen and, of course, lots of beer. Come for the day ($10) or grab a three day pass ($20) to join in on all of the festivities!

September 30th -October 2nd.

Jenschke Pumpkin Patch

Head to Jenschke Orchards to pick your own pumpkins and enjoy some homemade pumpkin and pecan pie. They also have other fun activities including a wagon ride, corn pit and corn maze for $12 admission with age 2 and under free. Open Friday-Sunday, 8-6. So much fall fun!

Starts mid-September.

Fall Farmer’s Market

Starting September 30th, you can visit the Fall Fredericksburg Farmers Market. This weekly event brings locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs and cheese. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy the live music in downtown Fredericksburg. Located next door to the Pioneer Museum.

Fredericksburg Trade Days

Another favorite outdoor activity that’s even better as temps cool off. Shop over 400 vendors in seven barns and acres of antiques, collectibles, tools, crafts, shabby chic, primitives, ranch furniture, hunting accessories, candles, unique clothing, jewelry, food and so much more. Relax in the Biergarten while listening to live music.

3rd weekend of every month.

Take a hike

You can’t skip out on a trip to one of our beautiful state parks. Pedernales Falls State Park and Enchanted Rock State Natural Area are both great options for anyone who loves to hike, swim, and even ride on horseback. Pro tip: Make sure to make your reservation in advance and try early morning or early evening if you’re planning to go on a warmer day!
